Glory to Glory
God always does things that are just “beyond”...us.
If Christ defeated sin, death, and the devil by dying on the cross imagine what He will do when He comes with glory and power!
If God loved us so much while we were His enemies that He gave His Son to die for us then imagine what He will do now that we are His own adopted children!
If the ministry that brought death came with glory then imagine what the ministry of the Spirit that brings life must entail! If the ministry that condemns men is glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry that brings righteousness!
When Moses brought the law his face shone with a radiance that the Israelites were unable to look upon. Yet, that glory faded. Now, Moses was a champion of God. We still talk about him today. He is still honored and revered even though the glory he had was a fading glory.
We have been given the Spirit. Along with the Spirit we have been given freedom for where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom. Beyond that we are being transformed into the very likeness of God. This would be an outrageous thought had it originated with us but who could invent such a thought? It came from Him. It all comes from Him; from the One who is “beyond”. And so the glory of the true Christian life is not one that fades but rather one that is ever increasing. What a concept! What a God!
